My boys enjoy eating sausages a lot…so I am always on the look out to try new recipes with sausages. You can try this chicken sausage curry with frozen or fresh sausages, even flavoured ones. When using flavoured sausages make sure you pair the spices accordingly. Now here is a quick one……
This recipe can be tried with different types of sausages – chicken, beef, turkey, pork, vegan sausage and so on and can be made very quickly….even on a lazy day. I’m sure everyone has lazy days….I sure do…..lols…
Ingredients
- 1 packet chicken sausages
- 2 nos. Onion, finely chopped
- 2 nos. Green chilli, chopped
- 1 no.Tomato (optional)
- 1tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- ¼ tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1 ½ tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp Garam masala powder
- Mustard seeds
- 2-3 sprigs Curry leaves
- 2 tbsps Oil
- Coriander leaves, chopped (for garnishing)
- Salt, as required
- 2-3 tbsps Tomato paste
Method
- Remove sausage from packet and put in cold water for 20 mins and cut sausages into small pieces.
- Chop onions and green chillies finely.
- Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and then add curry leaves.
- Again add ginger garlic paste, green chillies and onion and saute.
- When the onion gets transparent, add chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and garam masala powder and then tomato.
- Sauté till oil separates. Add tomato paste.
- Again add the sausage pieces and stir well.
- Add salt according to taste. Cover the lid, cook on low flame, till the gravy is dry.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or chappathis.
Finally , got a chance to prepare this dish. Except for the curry leaves, stuck to the ingredient list to the dot..well..almost. Never thought cooking would be so much fun. Enjoyed preparing the dish…well ..had the recipe printed and kept in front of me while cooking. turned out to be a little too spicy as i added some extra chilly powder…ooops
