Chinese fried rice is a Chinese dish of steamed rice that is stir-fried in a wok and, usually, mixed with other ingredients, such as eggs, vegetables or meat and as such, often served as a complete dish. This is a quick recipe I learnt from my mom. You can also cook this dish with leftover rice and then add stir fried vegetables, scrambled eggs and cooked meat.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsps Olive oil
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- A tsp Vinegar
- 1 cup Chopped Vegetables (Beans, carrots, cabbage, bell pepper, peas, green onions, celery)
- One cup Basmati Rice
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Soya Sauce
- A tsp Sugar
- 2 tsps Tomato Ketchup
- 2 tsps Chilli Sauce
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Water
Method
- Heat olive oil in a pan and then add ginger garlic paste.
- Once the ginger garlic paste in sautéed, add chopped vegetables and lightly fry it in low flame.
- After the vegetables are half done, add vinegar to it and put off the flame and keep aside.
- In a separate pan, add butter and fry rice lightly for 2 minutes.
- Once fried, add water and salt and cook the rice.
- Mix soya sauce, sugar, ketchup and chilli sauce in a bowl and mix it properly.
- Again add this mix and the cooked vegetables to the rice and mix well.
