Making cinnamon rolls with puff pastry is quick and easy. I use shop bought puff pasty so that it requires minimum effort. I love the cinnamony taste, so sometimes I add cinnamon to my tea or coffee as well. As you are all aware cinnamon is a highly delicious spice and prized for its medicinal benefits.
This recipe is for all you lazy bakers….I’ve covered you for a fast and delicious treat…enjoy….
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, divided
- Ground cinnamon {to your liking}
- Flour for dusting
For the icing (if you desire icing)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Little water
Method
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Line baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- Unfold one sheet of puff pastry onto clean work surface sprinkled with flour.
- Spread 1/4 cup of brown sugar in a thin even layer over pastry. Press down lightly. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Roll up and cut into 8 even pieces. Place onto prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining sheet of puff pastry.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
For the icing
Generally I’m not crazy about icings. This section is added for people who desire icing.
- Mix all ingredients together until runny yet slightly thick.
- If the icing is runny, add more powdered sugar. If it’s too thick, add in more water.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve immediately.
