Multigrain rotis, as the name suggests are rotis or wraps made of a multitude of grains. Whole wheat flour, powdered rolled oats, flour of different types of millets can be used to make this roti. These fibre rich rotis are packed with nutrients. They keep us full for long hours and keep the hunger pangs away.
These multigrain rotis are not only for weight watchers but can also be equally enjoyed by kids with a curry and salad because they are super healthy and delicious. They are perfect for any meal in the day, be it breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Well….worth a try…
These rotis can be refrigerated for few days and can be microwaved for 15-20 seconds to serve.
For multigrain rotis…..
Ingredients
- 200 gms. Bajra Flour (Pearl millet flour)
- 200 gms. Besan (Gram flour)
- 500 gms. Whole Wheat Flour
- 200 gms. Oats Flour
- Salt, to taste
- Water, to knead
- Ghee, for smearing
Method
- Take wheat flour, oats flour, gram flour and pearl millet flour in a bowl.
- Add water and knead to make a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes to make it soft.
- Cover the dough and keep it aside to rest for 10 minutes.
- Make small lemon sized balls from the dough.
- Heat a griddle.
- Dust and roll the dough balls to make a 5-6 inch circle.
- Transfer the roti on a hot griddle.
- Cook the rotis until brown spots appear on the lower surface of the roti.
- Flip the roti.
- Cook until brown spots appear on the other side of the roti as well.
- Hold the roti with a tong and fluff it over the direct flame.
- Smear ghee on top and serve hot.
